SoCoBio Student Publication: Emily Woods – Prelimbic cortical excitatory overdrive and inhibitory underdrive accompany environmental suppression of food seeking

Emily Woods, a third year SoCoBio DTP student, is delighted to share news of a publication she co-authored, relating to her PhD research.

The researchers have found that environmental enrichment reduces food cue-driven cravings by disrupting specific neuronal responses in the prefrontal cortex, leading to excitatory overdrive and inhibitory underdrive in cue-reactive neurons.
