Just a couple of industry co-funded studentship places to fill, then we will have our 2021 cohort complete.

Recruitment of our second cohort of SoCoBio DTP students is nearing completion. 27 students have accepted studentships (22 standard and 5 industry co-funded studentships) and we are still recruiting to two industry co-funded studentships. These students will be located across all our partners and commence their PhD journey with an induction at the University of Southampton in September 2021 – hopefully in person this year!

The recruitment selection committee and interview panels were once again impressed with the quality of applicants to SoCoBio DTP. Thank you to applicants who provided feedback on our recruitment process – including the positive feedback on our interview preparation and skills workshop and video.

The industry co-funded studentships we are still recruiting to include Professor Vincent O’Connor’s project ‘Eat-2-ing away: acetylcholine receptor binding subunits lacking vicinal cysteines, a new pharmacophore for mitigation of plant parasitic infection‘, at the University of Southampton; deadline for applications is 23rd April 2021. The second industry co-funded studentship still to be recruited to will be advertised shortly.

We are looking forward to welcoming our 2021 cohort to the SoCobio DTP community. In the meantime the DTP Manager is happy to respond to questions from students prior to starting their PhD journey in September.
