During Dima’s placement with ICU Medical, he did some market analysis to help the company improve their products, in addition to doing some engineering work. This was a very useful placement for him because he learnt how to do market analysis in the context of a large industry company.

Dima also learnt a variety of skills on how to perform engineering tasks and to summarise his findings in an appropriate format suitable for ICU Medical’s internal policy. It was also very useful for him to familiarise himself with legislation in the field of medical devices as well as a variety of standards that companies need to adhere to in the UK, EU and USA markets.

This placement helped Dima decide that working in the industry is a viable option for me in the future.
