Matt completed his PIPS at a small private wastewater treatment company, which also sponsors his PhD. During his placement, he primarily worked with the R&D team to develop new programs and approaches for water treatment.

Throughout his PIPS, Matt gained a comprehensive understanding of the business and acquired new skills relevant to the wastewater industry. His role involved liaising with various departments within the company to observe how the research developed by his team is integrated, manufactured, and ultimately deployed and operated in real-world scenarios.
