SoCoBio student promotes women in STEMM at Soapbox Science Brighton

Susmita Aown a third year SoCoBio DTP PhD student at the Ecology and Evolution Department, University of Sussex, presented her PhD research at the Soapbox Science Brighton on 1st June 2024. Soapbox Science organises public engagement events around the UK and internationally where female scientist talk about their research to a general audience. Soapbox Science celebrate women in STEMM and challenges the stereotypes about who STEMM researchers are. Susmita greatly enjoyed talking to the public and children about her work on insects which feed on plant xylem. She hopes her presentation inspired the children visiting the i360 event space on Saturday, 1st June 2024, to study science.
